William founded XYR Partners and is its only team member today, so the person on your consult is the person who builds and runs your firm’s system.
He’s delivered web-development work since 2016 and holds a BS in Computer Science and Engineering from The Ohio State University. He also built CompeteScan, a daily tracker that scans ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity to see which businesses those engines name.
CompeteScan started with a client whose meeting requests from organic search were sliding while their Google rankings hadn’t moved. The cause turned out to be ChatGPT naming three competitors every time someone asked for the “best marketing agency” in their category. That’s an origin story, not a case study, but it’s why every XYR engagement watches AI answers as closely as Google.
His view of where marketing goes wrong is short:
Marketing sends people to your website. If that site is slow or clumsy, you’ve paid to make a bad first impression.
